Course selection windows for the Summer 2026 semester will begin on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 8:00 AM according to the number of credits completed and in-progress. All students are encouraged to select courses as soon as possible after their window opens. Course selection will continue until Monday, May 11, 2026, for 6-week courses and Friday, May 15, 2026, for 12-week courses.

Helpful information is available on the Course Selection website.

Please note that the information on this page is tentative and may change often as updates are received. Monitor this page regularly for information regarding course additions, cancellations, changes, restrictions and special registration instructions.

Waitlists & Waivers

As of Fall 2025, waitlists are now available within WebAdvisor.  The WebAdvisor Help Guide for Waitlists is available on the Student Planning website.

Important note: Have you confirmed that all sections of the course are full before joining a waitlist? You may have missed sections that still have seats available. When you're on the "Plan, Schedule, Register & Drop" page of WebAdvisor, the left panel only shows six sections at a time. You need to use the arrows to view the other sections. When you're in the "Course Catalog", make sure you scroll all the way down the list of sections for the course. Being on a waitlist does not guarantee a spot in the section. Please consider registering for another section if space is available while also ensuring that your course/final exam schedule remains conflict free.

WebAdvisor Waitlist Guide

Complete information to the course waiver process is available on the Course Selection website here: Course Waiver Process

Please note that the course waiver process is intended for special circumstances. Enrolment criteria, add deadlines, etc. are established with student success in mind and should only be waived in certain cases. Approval to be waived into a course is not guaranteed.

Credit Overload Requests

To be considered for a Summer 2026 credit overload (students wishing to register for more than 2.75 credits) please complete the S26 Credit Overload Request Form by Friday, May 1, 2026.  Credit overload requests will only be considered for approval by the B.Sc. Academic Counselling Centre beginning Monday, May 4, 2026, pending space availability.

Considering Dropping a Course?

Consider these key points:

  • Use the Library’s Mark Calculator to see what you need on the final exam for your target grade: Mark Calculator
  • Reflect on how you’ve performed on assignments vs. exams, and if your understanding has improved.
  • Dropped courses (by the last class day of the semester) won’t appear on your transcript, but failed ones do, and they impact your Semester and Cumulative GPA.
  • Are you on Academic Probation? Make sure you know what Semester or Cumulative GPA you need to continue taking courses.
  • For graduate/professional programs, check admission requirements - some will be considering cumulative averages, best credits, recent semesters, etc.
  • Consider the time and effort required to complete the course and its impact on your other courses this semester.
  • If this course is a pre-requisite or required for your major, consider how dropping will impact future course sequencing.
  • Concerned about OSAP, scholarships or tuition/finances? Contact:
  • International student? Connect with an International Student Advisor.
  • Varsity athlete? Connect with your coach.

To drop a course, use WebAdvisor and confirm your schedule updated correctly. Note that CourseLink refreshes overnight so your course might still appear there momentarily.

Worried about your average? Undergraduates can apply for up to 2.00 credits using the credit/no credit option, but only for Free Electives. Learn more and fill out the request form (during the semester you are registered in the course):
